PVE trade union successfully organized the IV Congress of Deputies, term 2023-2028

April 14, in Ho Chi Minh City. In HCMC, the Trade Union of Petroleum Design Consulting Corporation (PVE) has successfully organized the IV Congress of Trade Union Deputies of the Corporation, term 2023 – 2028.

Attending the Congress, on the side of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union (DKVN), there were Comrade Nghiem Thuy Lan, Member of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the Group’s Party Committee, Chairman of DKVN and representatives of the specialized committees of DKVN; representatives of leaders of trade unions affiliated to DKVN.

On the side of the Party Committee, the PVE Board of Directors included Comrade Ta Duc Tien – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors; Comrade Ngo Ngoc Thuong – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, General Director; Comrade Le Viet Hoai – Deputy General Director; Comrade Dinh Tung Hoang – Chairman of PVE Trade Union. Also attending the Congress were Comrade Branch Secretaries/leaders of functional committees, Design Consultancy Center and member companies and 100 delegates representing more than 300 trade union members and PVE employees.

The Congress heard the reports of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of the III session, including: Report summarizing the activities of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union III, term 2018 – 2023 and directions and tasks of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union IV, term 2023 – 2028; Report on the review of activities of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union III term, term 2018 – 2023. At the same time, representatives of affiliated trade unions and delegates contributed comments on trade union work through presentations at the Congress.

The report shows that PVE trade union activities in the past term have obtained encouraging results, have well performed the functions and tasks of the trade union, namely: Representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers; actively participate in management and perform well the function of educational propaganda, organize movements to enrich the lives of workers.

The 2018-2023 term is a special one for the PVE Union. It is the Covid-19 epidemic that broke out strongly in Ho Chi Minh City in the years 2019-2021, the PVE Trade Union Board has coordinated with the authorities to take care of employees from distancing arrangements, working online, Covid-19 vaccination as well as implementing many solutions to protect employees’ health. Besides, this is also a particularly difficult period for PVE’s finances, affecting more or less the mindset of workers. However, due to doing well the work of political and ideological education and organizing reasonable labor arrangement, ensuring a regular and stable working life, the employees and employees sympathize with the Board of Directors, stick together, actively strive to fulfill the assigned tasks well…

The report summarizing PVE trade union activities in the term 2018-2023 has also frankly pointed out the shortcomings that need to be overcome as well as drawn lessons learned, especially the limitations in the creative labor emulation movement, technical improvement, improving the quality of design products, technical services, racing to complete production tasks…

Speaking at the direction of the Party Committee, leaders of PVE, Comrade Ta Duc Tien – Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors agreed with the report of the Trade Union of the III session as well as the direction of tasks for the Trade Union of the IV term, term 2023-2028. He noted the issue of energy transition in the coming period to clarify difficulties and challenges for PVE such as high competition risk; Design consultancy work of works decreased due to economic difficulties and reduced investment, … Not only that, PVE also has to deal with difficulties and financial survival.

Therefore, he emphasized that the desire of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors towards the Trade Union and PVE Employees in general is to make efforts in all activities, the Employees comply with the labor contract, the leadership work assigned and fulfill their responsibilities; Trade unions strengthen the encouragement of employees to cohesion, promote the emulation movement, creative labor, strive to complete business tasks… From there, it helps PVE survive and thrive as it has been.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nghiem Thuy Lan – Chairman of DKVN highly appreciated PVE’s congress preparation, and acknowledged the efforts to achieve many positive results in the activities of the PVE Trade Union Board in the past term; especially the work of caring for employees during the pandemic, stabilizing employees’ minds in difficult periods in terms of job resources and finance, …

Regarding the limitations of the PVE Trade Union, the Chairman of DKVN noted the work of organizational consolidation, training and fostering of Trade Union cadres, effective management and administration of the Trade Union apparatus, changing operating methods in accordance with the current deep integration situation, …

For PVE trade union activities in the coming time, Comrade Nghiem Thuy Lan especially emphasized the work of accompanying expertise, organizing emulation movements, creative labor, improvement initiatives to complete production and production tasks; accompanying the PVE restructuring plan, labor policy; implement the project to regenerate Oil and Gas Culture/PVE Culture; implementing NQ 02 BCT on Trade Union work, …

In the program, the Congress elected the Board of Directors for the fourth term of 2023-2028 including 11 comrades, elected an official delegation to the VII session of DKVN College 2023-2028.

        The IV Trade Union Committee launched the Congress and Chairman of the Trade Union Dinh Tung Hoang gave a speech accepting the task.

The Board of Directors of the IV term 2023-2028 conducted the First Session to elect a Business Board consisting of 3 comrades; elect the President and Vice President of the PVE Trade Union and elect the Trade Union Inspection Committee and the Chairman of the PVE Trade Union Inspection Committee. Accordingly, as a result, Comrade Dinh Tung Hoang – Chairman of PVE Trade Union III was confidently elected as President of Trade Union IV; Comrade Le Mai Phuong – Vice Chairman and Comrade Tran Quoc Tuan – Chairman of the PVE Trade Union Inspection Committee.
